I am a long-time DAW user currently building live band medleys and stem-based performance sets inside ACID Pro 11.
One feature that would dramatically modernize ACID’s live-performance workflow would be the addition of quantized timeline jumping between markers, regions, or sections during playback.
Currently, ACID allows jumping between markers, but jumps occur immediately and can sound abrupt during live performance. A quantized jump system would allow the software to wait until the next bar, beat, or user-defined quantization interval before transitioning playback to the selected section.
Suggested functionality:
- Quantized marker/region launching
- Wait until next bar or beat before jumping
- Optional “Arrangement Performance Mode”
- MIDI controller integration (Launchpad, APC, Stream Deck, etc.)
- Loop/vamp section support
- Seamless stem continuity during transitions
- Optional pre-roll or transition smoothing
This would make ACID uniquely powerful for:
- live bands
- medleys
- worship music playback
- hybrid DJ/live performance
- backing track performance
- theater production
- live stem triggering
ACID already excels at timeline-based audio and beatmapped content. This feature would evolve the platform into a modern live arrangement engine while preserving its core workflow. So many more people would purchase and use it than do so now.
