@sgfev

Sorry to hear about the burning problem.

First, there is no telephone number you can be given; support is via a ticket system, sorry.

However, we really do need a lot more information from you. Exactly which version and edition (Basic, Plus or Premium) of MEP do you have? I ask because I am not aware that any of them require the separate activation of any codec in order to burn to disc. (You can find the exact version number under Help>About...) Please also take a screenshot of or post the complete text of the error message you are receiving.

I notice you have previously posted a question about Rescue Your Video Tapes. I assume you have previously decided to "upgrade" to MEP.

Should you wish to create a support ticket you need to start from this page, going to Technical Support and, on each subsequent page where the "Ask Support" option is offered, that is what you should click on.

It could also be helpful to we, fellow-users, in trying to help you if you were to read this post and put all the requested information about your computer into your Signature. It will then always be available.

Hi. I'm confused as I've had an email back from magix saying i need to activate the mpeg2 codex at cost. My version is magix movie edit pro 14 plus registered in 2008. Apparently they don't offer support for this any more hence why i need to buy this mpeg2

@sgfev

That is a very old version! I'm rather surprised it still runs anything like "properly" in any recent Windows version.

I assume the email explains exactly how to go about purchasing the required codec? If it doesn't I'm afraid I can offer no further help.

Hi Jeff

Yes it's old but does exactly what i want and I'm used to it and all the functions. I've always used it for editing yet now it's asking for activation. Don't understand why? I just want to get this disk done.

Hi. Using Windows 10. Never had any problems with magix until now

emmrecs wrote on 12/23/2021, 1:48 PM

@sgfev

As I implied earlier, for this version to run at all under Win 10 is unusual, to say the least. However, it is more than possible that a recent update to the OS has now rendered some part of your MEP installation inoperable.

Hi.

Thanks for the help

Its a shame. Loved the software. Ran it on Windows 7 for years and years and it never missed a beat. I updated to Windows 10. Added more ram and a SSD and it worked really well. Don't know why suddenly i need to activate. I've used this software this year with no problems. Then today it's thrown a paddy at me. So annoying. Just need an activation key
