Recent Update

Chris-Hawkins3128 wrote on 4/16/2022, 8:37 AM

The most recent update you forced onto me has messed up my program, causing all of my videos to flicker constantly. As a regular YouTube poster I cannot have this continue. Now as I'm trying to redownload my product I keep getting errors so it won't download.

Fix this problem soon or I'll be discontinuing using this product.

Greetings and welcome to the USER FORUM.

As the name implies, this forum is run by users for users and is not a Magix moderated site albiet under the Magix banner. If you want to rant, then please go to Magix Support by clicking the button labelled Support at the top of this page. Moaning anf threatening here will do not good at all.

If you would like us to help you then please follow this link https://www.magix.info/us/forum/please-do-the-following-before-posting-your-question--621831/ giving as much info as possible.and then some of the extremely knowledgable people on here will probably be able to help.

As for "discontinuing" to use the program, I wouldn't think that would really bother Magix should you decide to do so, it's much better to try to make the program work despite Magix.

Hi

In addition to the items in the link @me_again gave you, what video format, resolution and framerate are the source videos you are importing?

. . . . The most recent update you forced onto me has messed up my program . . . .

If you mean:

  • a patch update, these are not forced on you - when the update dialog appears you have three options - Install now, Install later, and close the dialog, the first 2 do exactly what they say, the third does nothing except closes the dialog.

  • an upgrade to a later version, this too is not forced on you - there are more steps to the upgrade you have to agree to before it is done.

Look, all I know is that now all my videos are having a flickering video display that was not happening prior to the last update. Now with even using different cameras I'm still getting that to happen. What needs done to correct that?

Hi Chis.

There are reasons the forum users request the information we expect to have to give more precise and relevant replies to individuals questions. Without it there is much more guesswork involved and inevitably more additional questions to be asked before a solution is found.

One thing that sometimes happens is a project that is being worked on between updates can behave differently and sometimes it causes problems. It is normally best practice to finish a given project before accepting any update package for any program but few people realise this.

One way to test that would be to open a new project, just a tiny test one with a couple of short video clips to export to see if the problem persists. If the problem still exists then there could be a setting that has either changed and needs changing back or there may now be a problem between the computer hardware and the program. If the problem does not exist then there may be a few ways to get the older project to work properly again.

Please be patient. Complex programs have a thousand and one ways of going wrong and sometimes less experienced users will find correcting such errors almost impossible without guidance.

By the same token it is almost impossible to work out a solution for anyone without sufficient information to work with and no access to the individuals setup.

Ray.

Hi

In order for us to help with the issue you are having, we need the information requested, we are not sat in front of your computer so cannot determine what the issue is without this information ie:

  • The computer specification, program full name and version number, Windows version etc as detailed in the link you were given above - also see my Signature for an example of what is needed.

  • The source video file resolution and encoding format ie a MediaInfo analysis data of a source video clip - see this tutorial on how to set up Mediainfo and analyse a clip for the correct data to post in a comment

  • Clarification of whether the latest 'update' was a patch for the version of Movie Studio (MS) or an upgrade to a newer version of MS eg from MS 18 to MS 2022.
