regions turn to markers when saved - SF14Pro

Hi Everyone,

I've got a really strange problem (at least, I think it's strange)..

When I create regions in a file, they are converted to markers when the file is saved. I'm using SF14Pro, build 111, Win10.

Here's what I'm doing - step by step:

I have a wav file, with multiple markers. I double click between two markers to highlight the region, then I hit "R" to create the region. So far, so good. Everything is fine. I repeat this for all of the regions. I'm able to export the regions to separate files.

But when I save the file, the regions all are converted to markers. The regions are no longer there. It's pretty annoying..

Any ideas? Let me know if I need to provide any additional info.

Thanks in advance..

Try 'Save as' and confirm the "Save metadata with file" box is check-marked in the save/save as window. You should not have to choose 'Save as' with every subsequent save.
btw, there is a notification option if 'save metadata' is disabled.
(Options> Preferences> General> Warn when metadata cannot be saved in file)

"Save metadata with file" is already checked in the save window. The option is set in my preferences too.

Sorry, I cannot think of any other settings the would cause that. I do not recall reading of that abnormality either in any of the SF versions. Does this happen with specific file types, if it is lossy files (MP3s and such), try reversing the lossy file "proxy" setting.
Otherwise you could try resetting SF to factory defaults in the "File" menu, which clears the cache as well. If that does not help, try a repair install... or .. (plan C) uninstall / reinstall, preferably using a third-party uninstaller that cleans leftover data.

I mainly just work with 24/192 .wav files. I really don't want to reset to factory defaults. I'll try doing a repair install and see if that works. I tried doing a system restore from a few days ago (which worked the last time this happened). Didn't work this time..

I've also noticed that things in general seem to be taking considerably longer with SF14Pro (file saves, etc) than they used to..

Confirm you are using the latest build, 111 .

Yes, I can confirm this.

Try to use the 112 release/version.

I updated to build 112 when I got the first notification.

Yesterday, when I pasted a .wav file (with markers) onto the end of another .wav file, the markers did not come with it. Luckily, there were only 5 markers, but still aggravating to not have them pasted along with the content from the clipboard.
