Removing Links between Objects on Timeline

Marc-Bergevin wrote on 1/17/2023, 6:01 PM

Hello;

I am having some problems editing my project.

When I select an object on particular track, the selection appears to grab all the other items on the same track.

I have tried to rectify this problem by selecting all the objects, and then applying the break link button. However this does not solve the problem. What am I missing here?

Thanks,

Marc

@Marc-Bergevin

Marc, you're missing the Mouse Mode selection:

The first button is single object, the second (which sounds like the one you are in) selects the object and all others to the right on that track (and other linked objects). The third button selects all objects to the right, on all tracks.

Beware: in your current situation, it sounds like you've delinked the audio and video of an object ("selecting all the objects, and then applying the break link button"). Check that that hasn't actually happened. If it has, in single object mouse mode, simply select each pair of objects ie video and audio (CTRL left click each) and re-link with the unbroken chain button.
