Save projects and embed files

Hi everyone. Im quite new to Movie Edit so maybe there is a very simple solution. When I save projects and move/rename files that have been used in this project it will not find these files again. Which makes sense as I changed the path. Is there a way to embed the files within the project so I can delete/move/rename the files I used for the project? Thank you!

By far the "easiest" way to avoid the problem of files going "missing" from a project is to create a dedicated folder for each project. The setting to do this is on the initial Create Project screen, as below:

Tick the highlighted box.

This does mean that every file will be saved once for each project in which it is used so could become a problem of storage space if you have limited hard drive space.

Hi,

Please read the Quick Start chapter of the manual and watch my two tutorials on basic editing.

Video editors do not embed video, photo or audio files in the project files. A Project file is a set of instructions. It retains only the name and path. If you move or change either or delete a file that has been used in a project, the video editor will not be able to find it and will ask where it is. Likewise, video editors do not modify these files.

If you really need to change the name or location of a file, do it before using the file in the video editor.
