Songs will not load

Video Pro X v17 (latest update)

Windows 10 with 1909 upgrade.

Almost every single time I load a Video Pro X project to do some editing, my audio list (for soundtracks) won't load. It's just blank with a Download Circle in the middle of the space where my lists should be. Once in a great while it will load. This morning I did a disk clean and deleted my temp files. Immediately after that the list did load. But when I closed down and came back to it an hour later, as usual it did not load.

This is very frustrating. Most of the songs on that list I purchased from their store. And oh...sometimes the store itself won't even load. I have 12 GIGs of memory. It should not be a memory thing. Suggestions?

I have opened a ticket with tech support (with Christopher). He has helped me in the past and is very good but it takes awhile to go back and forth with our 6 hour time difference. I need this fixed asap.

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

See the problems indicated by Magix in the first message of this post. I suggest that you refer Magix to their own message on the forum and note that this is the same in VPX. Obviously, this problem is already known to Magix and has been unresolved for far too long. Keep up the pressure.

See item 32 in the bug list that I sent in to Magix today. I raised this particular issue in a ticket on January 9.

The interim solution is to open VPX, wait 10 or 15 minutes, close it, wait a bit to make sure that it has completely closed (you can tell if it tells you that it is already started on this computer when you try to reopen it), and reopen it. And when that doesn't work, repeat. Eventually, everything will show up...maybe.

Thanks John CB. I really appreciate you weighing in on this and your bug report. I will look at it shortly. I have found, (just yesterday or the day before) that when I clean my HD of temp files, etc. my song list will come up but since I have a very short history of taking that step, I don't know if it will help every time. I will stay on top of it with Magix.

John, this is what my audio list looks like. I have tons of songs that I purchased which won't populate. Heck, not even the free ones. This is a current screenshot taken 1 min. ago. Guess, I'll have to do another disk clean to access them. Geesh!!!

@KBL

Hi Kevin,

Please read what I wrote and look at the reference post and read about the problem and what to do about it. It is in the sticky for MEP. MEP and VPX have the same problem with the database and Store.

No need to do any cleaning. This is a Magix problem to be resolved.

Thanks John. I'm on my way!

John,

It worked like a charm. I followed your, then his advise to a tee and boom! After performing those steps, everything loaded beautifully. Hopefully this will continue. But just in case, I will keep this information very close-by and repeat if necessary.

Thanks again for your help,

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Glad you got it going. Unfortunately, you have to go through the same thing every time you restart your computer. I do it daily.

John,

I don't shut down my computer everyday. Sometimes, I'll go a week before do a shutdown or restart. So, hopefully when I don't shut the computer down, the changes will stay intact until the next time I reboot.

@KBL

I find that allowing the New Magix Update Notifier to run at startup for a short while (a half hour or more) before opening the program alleviates this problem. At least in Movie Edit Pro it does. Also check this folder folder appears which in my version of the program at least contains all shop added material.

If that folder doesn't appear on my Copy of MEP then any additional shop content is normally also missing.

Both MEP and Update Notifier now seem linked in a new way and both need to be running for hassle free use of the editor. I suspect this is deliberate and not expecting Magix to rectify this any time soon.

Ray.
