Sound Forge 17

Storyhub wrote on 11/8/2025, 12:12 PM

I have downloaded and reinstalled sound forge 17.0.2 on a windows 11 Pro computer with Intel i7-13700 CPU, rebooted, and tried to launch. It would not launch and would not give any error message as a hint to why it would not launch. It just pops up a problem report window that says "SOUND FORGE Audio Studio 17 has stopped working". Reinstall did find and entered the serial number and the product shows as being active when I login and check products.

Problem Description
Application Name:    SOUND FORGE Audio Studio 17
   Application Version: 17.0.2.109 x64
   Problem:             Unmanaged Exception (0xc0000005)
   Fault Module:        C:\Program Files\SOUND FORGE\SOUND FORGE Audio Studio 17\Audiostudio17.exe
   Fault Address:       0x0000000140928EC7
   Fault Offset:        0x0000000000928EC7

@Storyhub Some computer systems might encounter problems with the Magix Low Latency audio driver that gets installed alongside Sound Forge Audio Studio. This is an old version of ASIO4ALL and might be simply incompatible with modern operating systems or hardware.

If you want to uninstall Magix Low Latency you can press the Windows key + R on your computer keyboard, and type REGEDIT in the Open field:

Then navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > ASIO > Magix Low Latency 2016:

Now, simply right click the Magix Low Latency 2016 folder, and delete it.

Then restart your computer. Please select the Restart option and not the Shut down option.

I hope this helps.

I cleared out all ASIO reg keys and files and folders. Did not solve the issue. The only thing that worked was to upgrade to sound forge 18 which says 17 does not work with the latest version of windows 11.

I just nplaced an order for SoundForge Audio Studio 17, got an order confirmation but no email with link to download and serial to activate. I checked credit card company and there's a pending charge. Have I been scammed? How do I cancel the purchase completely? Don't want to deal with customer service/support issues like this. Please help.

I also posted a cancellation request with VEGAS and sent email to us-shop@magix.net

@Ross-Abas We are all just users like you. We are not customer support. What should we do? It's correct you contacted the shop e-mail address.

@Ross-Abas

Hi,

Did you check your spam box? An Email with the activation code is usually sent out within a minute.

The normal route to contact Magix is to click on that big button at the top of the forum that says SUPPORT, select the product and scroll down to the bottom where it says Contact Support.
