Has anyone given up on Sound Forge Mac Pro and installed Sound Forge 14 for Windows, using Parallels? Looks like you can upgrade from Mac Pro to Windows version for $150 (not that it should cost anything, since we paid a lot for an unsupported program). Has anyone done this? Any luck with it?
I haven't taken the plunge on Parallels. It feels like defeat. I've been exploring all of the options though to figure out how to keep Sound Forge in my life (even after being furious for months over the Mac situation). I have all these associated plugins to think about too. I just know that switching to a Windows machine - after seriously shopping for one - isn't going to happen. I have too much invested in Mac. It may be time to find a different stereo master editor/mixer/finisher, or maybe I need a second Mac to put Parallels on. A dedicated machine for music may be the best solution.
I am using SF under Parallels with no problems at all, if you want to avoid the cost you could always use Bootcamp to run Windows instead however that requires a reboot every time you want to run Windows.
