Can anyone help explain how I can keep the Spatial Audio from my Ricoh Theta V videos. As they are being changed to 2 Mono Channels when I Export the Movie.
. . . . how I can keep the Spatial Audio from my Ricoh Theta V videos. As they are being changed to 2 Mono Channels when I Export the Movie . . . .
I assume you are exporting as MP4 video then the audio is being converted to 2 channel stereo.
AFAICS on my system:
Using the Intel codec for export ie Default, the only export file format available in MEP that supports 5.1 surround sound is AVCHD (m2ts files) - to change to surround sound in the export dialog click the options indicated in the image below.
thank you for your help. It makes the sound come out of the rear speakers on the PC, but it has lost the 360 video on the Screen. Thereby I am unable to check if it has Spatial Audio as the video is flat. In your Screen Capture you have selected a non 360' video option. When I select any 360 video option, the Surround Sound option becomes unavailable?
. . . . Are you using a Ricoh Theta V as well? . . . .
I tested one when the Theta first came out.
AFAICS - as you have found you can have one or the other but not both.
MEP appears not to support the spatial sound format, and from what I can see at this time, the same applies to other well known video editing software which 'supports' 360deg video ie they can correct the severe distortion of the image but not handle the audio correctly.
