@Chhiring-Lama

Hi and welcome to the forum

What is the full computer specification and program version, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full.

. . . . 1500 GB of SSD . . . .

Do you mean there a 2 SSD drives, a 500 GB system drive and a 1TB data drive?

Is VPX 13 patched up to date? The latest version is 19.0.1.105

Do note the VPX 13 does have some bugs present - see this rather long topic for more information.

Hi @johnebaker,

nice to hear back from you. My PC is HP Envy TE01 series, it came with 500 GB of SSD and and 16 GB of RAM. I upgraded it with 1 TB of SSD and additional 16 GB of RAM. So, now it has 1500 GB of SSD and 32 GB of RAM. Graphics card is core i7 Intel UHD Graphics 630. So far the Video Pro x is up to date. processor is Intel(R) core(TM) i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90 GHz.

I frequently get this message as well. Please help me to fix the problem. Thank you.

The warning seems to indicate you are not using the most up to date graphics drivers for your inboard Intel GPU,

It may be wise to go to the HP product driver download pages to check here.

@johnebaker

it says i have latest and up to date driver. Magix minimum system requirement shows

I have already Intel UHD 630. Do you have any idea, why i don't have option to activate the hardware acceleration under File>Settings> Program ??

@Chhiring-Lama

Hi

. . . . Magix minimum system requirement shows . . . .

The UHD 630 you have is the better than the minimum and the HD630.

VPX 13 has the capability of selecting different GPU's, if installed, to perform different tasks, shown below is the settings you should see:

Hi

Thank you for your serious follow up. It looks i have correct setting as yours,

in your snap shot video output section has bit different than mine!!! otherwise looks same.

johnebaker wrote on 7/22/2021, 3:33 AM

@Chhiring-Lama

Hi

The Video output option is for outputting the project without the transport controls, and editing capabilities to a another monitor so you can see what the final video will look like when you play the movie on the timeline.

@Chhiring-Lama

Hi Chhiring.

Sorry for the late reply but I wanted to test something.

First I tried the same settings but in MEP 2022 not VPX, but as they now have the same engine I thought it may be a comparable test.

The test project slowly builds up from one track of video with effects to thirteen tracks of video towards the end with one track of music throughout the seven minutes of play.

All video clips were 4K 50fps 100mbps variable bit rate, constant frame rate H264.

Second. I can replicate the fault on a demanding project including slow downs and a bit of freezing of the program with the eventual crash bringing up the following warning. Not exactly the same warning as yours I think but a crash none the less.

So going from the same initial program setup for graphics you had I got this.

As you can see from the GPU graph it was at around 65% usage when it surged to an average of 95 % usage and above when the program fell over. It possibly tried to get to 100% for a brief spike but if it did Task Manager did not catch that happening or I missed seeing the spike.

The program remained open as did the project after it had stopped playing.

I opening the program manager to see if the settings had been changed by MEP and they had been.

Notice only processing was changed. I did try a few other combinations of settings but none worked. That one did.

Those settings not only worked for playback but also export. The Intel GPU never getting above around 16% of usage but the CPU usage jumped significantly as did ram usage. Playback was slow to respond in this setting and jumpy. Not at all smooth. Please note that I was not using any proxy files or pre-rendering which probably would have improved the situation.

The other major downside was this project took over an hour to export whereas previously it had taken less than seven minutes.

My personal verdict.

If you are using an Intel HD 630 graphics chip or lower on high resolution, heavy effect laden projects, you are going to need and additional third party GPU with some grunt if you have to resort to using the CPU to do some number crunching. Trying to use the Microsoft WARP device instead just produced an immediate crash when trying to play back.

Ray.
