Hi John

Sorry I didn't reply to your answers before now only I have been trying things out syncing audio to video.

I have MMEP 2015 Premium which has what you say but I really don't find this satisfactory. So what is the exspensive alternativeyou speak about? I am recording with a shotgun mic plugged into a tascam DR 100 m11 digital recorder, the output from that is plugged into my camcorder so I do have a reference track to work with, I'm trying to sync the audio from the Tascan recorder into MMEP, but it's to long winded any answers would be appreciated. you said there weas an expensive option ,what is that?

Regards

Michael

Hi Michael,

By starting a new thread we don't have the previous messages. To refresh your question and get it to the top of the list, you just have to edit the original question.

Here is the link to the original question and replies.

Were you not able to sync the tracks selecting the audio tracks then right clicking on one of them and selecting sync audio? What is the result?

Hi John

Yes I did try it but it took to long a bit hit and miss but nice to know it's in the software. I didn't find an ideall solution especialy if I was working with lots clips. Just been on the internet and got some really good ideas. I know how to set it all up so that's no problem, what I didn't.t know is that you can clap your hands while the camera and audio recorder are playing to get a starting refernce point, match the spike sound wave from the recorder and the camera and that will give you the sync. also the reason people find that when they have a long clip with seperate audio and Camera it can drift out of sync, the reason you must check that the sample rate is the same on the Audio recorder as the Camera. Will try this in MMEP 2015 Premium toninht..

Hi Michael,

I did a tutorial on multicam using VPX6. It's in the tutorials tab. I discuss 3 methods for syncing audio and video. One problem to watch out for is the distance between the mic and the sound. If one mic is close and another is far, especially the one on the camera, then you will have to make a further adjustment manually. VPX6 allows small movements of the audio track, of less than one frame, but MEP only allows audio to move in single frame jumps.
