The Following Effect HELP

Dear Friends,
I loved following video where several effects have been used. A Bokeh as background, Chroma on the text (Dubai), gradual Zoom-In are among some. And the interesting element is in the beginning, there is a small unfocus after which the text (Dubai) slowly pops in.
I have tried with a horrible result. Can someone please guide me?

Hi Anirban

This is the closest I can get

Starting from the example you gave I added in the following effects to the Text object:

Distortion, Sand - start 66% end 0%

Art filter, Erosion - start 57% end 0%

Distortion, Mosaic - start 100% end 0%

All three effects start at the same time and end at the same time.

You may need to adjust the settings to suit your background showing through the text

Here is the timeline -

As you can see it is similar to yours - all the effects start and finish at the same time, you may need to adjust yours to how you like them and add the zoom effect.

Note: for the video example I did slow the video down so you could see the effect better, my video effect loop on track 2 is very short.
