time stretch audio burp

VideoPro wrote on 10/16/2020, 8:21 PM

I am trying to speed up the voice of the person on my video interview.

I have tried splitting the audio and video, and then time stretching / speed up, and then when I produce the video, and it ends up having a "burp" or an audio glych in some parts...how do I prevent this from happening ?

I would prefer to stay within the MOVIE EDIT PRO program, and I do not want to try and edit this outside of the program.

@VideoPro

I think we need to see the problem to identify a workaround for this one.

Can you post the offending clip? Also how much have you sped the clip up by?

I often do the opposite, slow stuff down including audio and don't have problems.

Is it similar to what I'm doing in the video below where I've slowed down action but changed the pitch of the audio to remain normal? There is a bit of audio noise from handling the microphone and a small amount of wind noise from time to time.

Ray.

You are referring to something totally different, and complex.

I have a basic interview video with time stretch effect applied only slightly, to speed up the voice of the professor slightly, while remaining congruent with video. There is a protocol for this to ensure the audio doesn’t have hiccups

Hi

. . . . This is a simple and common problem that anyone with basic level of experience with the software will instantly have an answer for, because not running into this problem is not possible for a basic level experience user. . . . .

This is neither helpful nor courteous to the person you are responding to when asking for help.

If you want another user to help then help by providing information and/or samples as requested.

. . . .There is a protocol for this to ensure the audio doesn’t have hiccups . . . .

If there is a protocol what is it?

Your assumption here is that the issue is with the program, however, AFAIK, there have not been any other users reporting a similar issue with MEP, therefore the first step is to eliminate the video as the cause so as @CubeAce requested please provide a sample video clip from the same source that demonstrates this behaviour.

We also require more information:

See this topic and put your computer specification and MEP variant version information in your signature so we do not have to go hunting for it through your previous posts.

  1. What export preset are you using and are you changing any of the options in it?

  2. What is the source of the video clip and post a MediaInfo analysis of it - details are in the topic linked to above?

  3. Are there any other video or audio objects in the same region of the timeline which overlap?

Help us to help you.

@VideoPro @johnebaker

Sorry for my previous abrupt reply but I asked the question and supporting request for a reason.

I need to confirm first that the audio portion of the file file you work with has sufficient bit depth and sampling rates to get a smooth response from being altered. Working at some bit depths can influence the output quality of an altered file.

To give a partial clip would mean re-rendering the clip and altering the source files' data, so not of particular use. If not the file itself, a report from MediaInfo may suffice to try to work out what is going wrong, but also there are a few working methods within MEP that could do this for you, so knowing which you chose to use would also be useful on top of Johns' requests.

Ray.

Hi

This forum is not Magix Support, it is a user to user forum with members who have many years of experience in video editing with Magix products.

To denigrate their knowledge and experience and make unsubstantiated comments such as 'from a place of EGO' is not a good way to encourage members to help you with the issue you are having.

Remember - only you are sat in front of your computer, no one else can see it and any attempt to provide a solution would be guesswork.

I would suggest you read Community rule 2 - link is at the bottom of the page, and this topic here.

If you are not willing to help us by providing information requested then the issue is not going to be resolved here.
