Tired of all the sales/upgrade emails from Magix

NotACat wrote on 10/28/2025, 7:15 AM

I am tired of receiving spammy sales emails multiple times a week from Magix. Apparently Magix feels that my time and inbox are theirs to do whatever they want. Sure, I can unsubscribe from all emails but that's not what I want. What I'd like is the ability to control sales/promotion emails to a setting of my choice (such as once every 2 weeks).

I would also like the email contact of the marketing person responsible for sales emails so I can convey the same message directly in case they do not read this forum. If someone could forward this to the Managing Director (R.R) that would be appreciated.

Honestly I am so pestered by Magix that I am considering not purchasing anything further from them.

Now, since most people don't complain, it is likely that many others feel the same way. I can see at least one other user has made the same complaint but without any resolution, which makes me wonder if any higher-ups read this forum.

So, Magix:

  1. What is your policy on sending sales emails?
  2. Is there a limit of emails sent in a specific time? Can this be adjusted by recipient?
  3. Do you realize that it is annoying to keep getting multiple emails in a short space of time?

If there are any other users that feel the same way about the emails, please leave a comment so Magix can see.

@NotACat

Welcome to the Magix forums.

I think we understand your frustration but these are user to user forums; Magix staff rarely, if ever, visit here and so it is extremely unlikely that anyone who can effect any change to the sending out of emails will see your post, sorry.

Your only possible course of action is to email infoservice@magix.net and raise there your concerns. Direct communication with any named member of Magix staff is not possible.

Speaking personally, I rarely receive emails from Magix, though I do see quite regular "pop-ups" advertising their products. I know other users resent these pop-ups but I find them useful for seeing "what's happening" though I very rarely do anything other than dismissing them from my screen.

You've asked for any other user that feel the same way ... please leave a comment. That is acceptable but if this thread becomes a series of rants or its content in any way abusive it will be immediately closed and hidden.

@NotACat @emmrecs

Greetings Jeff,

I rarely receive emails from Magix, though I do see quite regular "pop-ups" advertising their products

It's the opposite for me (UK). I receive loads of sales based emails from Magix but I've not seen a pop-up for a long time.

Greetings @NotACat

In the past 14 days I've had 3 emails about updating Music Maker (I don't use that anymore but, fair enough, Magix don't necessarily know that), 2 emails for Photostory (not sure why) and 7 emails for Video Deluxe 2026 Ultimate.

The VDL 2026 emails amuse me in that if I wasn't interested in updating when it was first offered to me at £59.99 I fail to see why they think I would want to buy it at £79.99. The email opening tag lines also occasionally amuse; one last week started with "We miss you. Come back for the royal treatment".

I suppose this is what marketing is all about. I could unsubscribe but maybe, just maybe, one day one may be of interest.
