Titles on Collage

Margaret-Keckler wrote on 2/7/2020, 1:11 PM

I'm a newbie learning... I haven't run across an answer to this, and I can't seem to get it to work as I'd like:

I have 5 photos assembled as a collage. That operation works fine. I want to put a title on top of the last photo of the collage only. The title slide is a movement basic "wide bottom top fade out". The title slide itself works fine. I just can't overlay it on top of the last photo of the collage.

ALSO... how do you slow down the movement of the LAST photo only of a 5-photo (or more) collage? Can I affect the movement of each photo independently? I've messed around, but can't seem to see how that is done. I'd like to make that LAST photo only longer to accommodate the title slide moving up and out - presuming I can overlay the tile as desired. Hope this makes sense and this wonderful community has answers!!

Thanks in advance.... ~MK

Hi,

Please indicate which version of MEP you are using (Help, About) and whether you have basic, Plus or Premium.

With a collage, the images are moved to higher numbered tracks, as you have undoubtedly seen, and everything is grouped together. The title has to be on a higher numbered track than anything at its location. Wherever it is, move it so that it lines up with the image that you want and trim it.

To modify elements of a collage, ungroup it (the broken chain button). Now you can do what you want, if you know how. Most elements will have keyframes, mostly for size and position.

If you don't know about moving, trimming and other editing tasks, see my tutorials on basic editing.

Sorry, I meant to include this and got ahead of myself... Movie Edit Pro Plus V 19.0.2.49.

I've watched yours, and other users tutorials... thank you... but I can't get the collage to show the title.

I've tried a number of different approaches; most recently I lengthened the last slide, put a title with the animation I wanted and grouped those two. Independently, that worked great. BUT if I use that slide with 4 others for a "collage" of 5 slides, the title will not show. I also tried that method without grouping the slide and the title slide...still won't work for me. What in the dickens am I missing??!!

Thanks...~MK

I am also unsuccessful in using the ungroup with the collage. It seems that if I'm using a template, it isn't going to let me edit elements within that template. However; it lets me create titles all day long; just won't show them. 😡
