Transferred to new computer. Not showing Project timeline, only video

**Solution offered by browJ2. Thanks. Did not need to try any further config as offered by johnebaker. Thanks for your help.**

** Edit 2- I came to this forum using the "ask a new question" button but now I have searched here for "F9" I see this is a regular solution to problems. Maybe I am just lucky my screens have not messed up in the last 4 years of using MMEP.

-----------------------

Hi, I have a new problem with M Movie Edit pro.

Program was originally bought in approx 2015 and upgraded in 2017 and was used on a fairly regular basis with success. Set up was left screen for project and right hand screen for video playback.

A couple of months ago the old PC (i5 processor) had a MOBO failure and the HDD was moved over to a new machine (new i3).

Since I changed most Win 10 programs have worked seamlessly but the M Movie Edit Pro would only open on left hand screen as a video window.

No “minimise” function worked to get to the Project /Timeline window. (Top right square or alt+ Enter).

Whilst there are other zoom functions in the top right hamburger menu none is “return to project window”. Thinking about it the left screen is fully playback screen. The Win 10 taskbar ribbon is only on my right screen. Also there is no “header” with minimise/ X close options.

I have uninstalled and re-installed using the downloaded update.

I have uninstalled and re-installed from DVD

I have changed screen settings to “double screen duplicate” rather than “double screen extended”.

I have opened previous projects. Whilst it shows the skiing video it is not forcing the Project Edit timeline to open.

My licence key (on magix.com) seems to allow 2 machines to be licensed but I have de-associated the i5 machine and when I restarted it asked me to reconfirm my licence key but then took me back to the Video only screen- no project timeline/ import/ effects page available.

Any suggestions about how to reinstate the project window on the second screen to or run program in “single screen”

@david-watkin

Hi,

Did you try F9? Or top menu, Windows > Window arrangement > Rest window arrangement? Or ...Standard?

Hi

If @browj2 suggestion does not work try the following:

  1. Using Windows file explorer browse to the folder in the address bar type in %appdata% and press Enter, see image below:

  2. Open the folder - MAGIX\Videodeluxexx_version - where xx = a 2 digit number and version = nothing, Plus or Premium

  3. Locate the file Videodeluxe.ini file and delete it.

  4. Start MEP.

The F9 trick worked fine. Much appreciated. That was frustrating. I had downloaded the manual but not found that but now when I search for F9 I acknowledge I just missed it. I had searched for "project" and "video" but didn't trip over that solution. Again, great, thanks.
