Transitions

mikelockey wrote on 7/2/2017, 9:00 AM

Where are all the transitions in the upgraded Movie Edit Pro Plus? I've just got coloured boxes and a purchase option.
Can I transfer the old ones to this upgrade or was it just a waste of money?

Version 16.0.4.98 (UDP3)

Older version: 10.0.12.2 (UC2)

Hi

Assuming you have downloaded and installed all the extras - the transitions are here

When you click one of the buttons the display changes to for example

Many are also available by right clicking the Transition button (A|B) on an object on the timeline as shown below

Hi John

Thanks for the reply.

I can't quite figure out where the transitions are.

Yes I've got the icons but they only link to a buy now when I click them.

I forgot about the AB link - I'll have a look.

mikelockey wrote on 7/3/2017, 4:42 AM

Hi John

Yes the AB link does have some transitions but my previous version had some clever 3D options and combined title labels at the bottom. Do you know where they are and can I copy them into the updated version?

mikelockey wrote on 7/3/2017, 4:48 AM

Hmmm ------------ I've just checked the icons and suddenly I have loads of transitions 😋

But I did do some copying as you suggested so I must have moved some over. I can't find the 3D ones though. They were rather clever - e.g. the snowman and the bottle.

Not sure if this is the same thing, but it could be that the way you accessed them before is not possible now?.. The "additional fades" tab has definitely gone. Which, as far as I know, makes it impossible to drag in 3rd party transitions (like Pixelan etc.) but as I say, may or may not be related to your issue.

Hi

. . . . I can't find the 3D ones though. They were rather clever - e.g. the snowman and the bottle. . . . .

Assuming you meant the following transitions:

Snowman

This one is actually called Winter and is under 3D Morph Basic and is installed with MEP Premium.

Bottle

Assuming you are at least on Windows 7, This is located in

C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Movie_Edit_Pro_17_whatever your version is\Plugins\3dMorph

and there are 4 files, all starting bottle_ which should be copied to

C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro Premium\2017\Plugins\3dMorph

There are many other 3D Morph files in the MEP 17 folder above which can also be copied across note some of them have more than 4 files.

Hi John

Thanks for the comments. I found them in the upgrade where I copied as you advised. I've also go XARA 3D maker and was able to copy stuff into there.

It looks like Magix have played their old tricks with the upgrade to 2020. I tried it and had no video so I reverted to the previous incarnation. I have some transitions but they're relocated (Again!!) and Magix has deleted the others. I expect they want me to buy them from the Shop which is loaded when I launch the programme. They were there before I upgraded. Any ideas please?

@mikelockey

Hi Mike

. . . . reverted to the previous incarnation . . . . .

If you previously opted too keep the Extra content download they should be in the Magix downloads folder - you can run the installers again to re-install.

If you did not keep them, you can download and install from Help, Install Extra content, elect to keep the files in the installation folder and make a backup copy of them to DVD for future use.

Hi John

It's the ones you've identified above here that have gone. See my PM.
Thanks Mike

@mikelockey

Hi Mike

If you are looking for the ones the upgrade moved - they should be in

C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Videocontent\Movie Edit Pro Premium\Plugins

If not which version did you revert back to?
