I just upgraded from MEP 2020 to 2021, and in the new version transitions don’t work. Nothing happpens. I run Windows 7 on my PC. Could that be the problem? /Tommy

The transitions worked OK in the last version, so I suspect but don't know, that is has something more to do with the core of the MEP program. Windows 7 is no longer officially supported which probably means it can run but with limited functionality. So my guess (and it is a guess) at this point is yes it probably has something to do with still using Win 7 although Windows 8 is still supported.
Did you check the needed requirements for MEP 2021 before upgrading or was it part of your current upgrade package?

I would still wait for others replies as I am only guessing but could you go back to your previous version? If it was an update rather than an upgrade? If so you could possibly go back and download your original version at your Magix account and stop the latest update.
But again wait for a reply from one of the other regular users here to get their opinion. They may well have a suggestion I haven't thought of. Have you tried running MEP in Windows compatibility mode yet?

OK. Thanks again. Yes, i tried compatibility mode as well. I fixes a problem with the preview window, but not the transitions.

It could be W7 that is the problem.
Do you mean that even a simple crossfade does not work? If you make one, say 2 seconds, what, exactly, happens? Something must happen. One should fade out while the other fades in.

A simple crossfade works all right when i drag clips together, but none of the other transitions in the templates work.

After the upgrade did you download and install all the Extra content which includes new versions of the transitions effects etc?
If not do so.

Yes, I downloaded the extra fades and design elements, but perhaps i did no unistall the old ones first. Could it make a difference?
No need to uninstall old ones.
Telling us they don't work does not help us as we don't know what you did. Please select one that doesn't work, tell us which one, and tell us how you applied the transition. Show us a screen shot of the entire screen.

Well, I just drag any transition from the templates menu to the timeline and place it between two clips as you normally would, but when I playback the sequence or export it, there simply is no transitions between the clips. But thanks for trying to help.
Please give us a screen shot and the name of a transition that you are trying to use. We are trying to see if we have the same problem. You cannot put the transition between 2 clips. The clips have to be either abutting or overlapping, and you drag the transition to the beginning of the left clip.

Once more thanks for trying to help, but now I have already reinstalled the 2020 version. It's not a specific transition, that causes trouble. It's them all. And also when i try to preview the transitions in the templates menu they don't work. And I use the transition precisely the same way as I used to in the 2020 version. Så I suppose the Windows 7 is then main problem.
