unable to update vegas pro 17.

i am getting a message to update vegas Pro 17 and the file gets downloaded ok, (688mb). But when I hit install, a message pops up and says" The installer is unable to update vegas Pro 17.0 while it is running". But if I close vegas, it also closes the installing update box that is displayed. I have down loaded the program from your support web site with vegas not running, and still give me the same message, if i click install, " The installer is unable to update vegas Pro 17.0 while it is running"

@leon-frank

Hi,

Some of us here would like to know how it is that some Vegas users end up posting in this forum, which is not for Vegas Products, in order to improve the user experience and make sure that they are more often directed to the correct forum.

In Vegas 17, under Help, you are directed to the Vegas forum, not here. So, could you please tell us how and why you ended up here?

Also, could you please tell us if you saw this message at the top of the forum and if not, why not? And if you did, why did you not click on it? Is there anything that we could do to make it more obvious?

Link to the message shown in the image.

Thanks,

John CB

@browj2

I wonder if @leon-frank will respond to your questions?

Since it would be very helpful to hear his answers I will leave this post open for a day or so at least, rather than the usual procedure of immediately closing it, to give @leon-frank opportunity to post here.

@emmrecs

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for leaving it up. I know that some users on the Vegas forum, Eric in particular, are equally wondering how come some Vegas users end up here instead of there. Hopefully we can figure out how the system can be improved.

Thanks,

John

Some of the redirected posters end up reposting on the Vegas forum while others just disappear!

@browj2 @ericlnz

I think we've waited long enough to allow @leon-frank to post back.

This thread is now (yet another) closed one.
