I’ve got a ‘Save Your Videotapes!’ box and I’m trying to download the software.
The thing is, I’ve got the serial number, but when I enter it in the relevant field to download it, I get an error message saying something like ‘Incorrect serial number’.
Has this happened to any of you?
How can I sort this out?

That is most likely a voucher code, try redeeming using the link I posted above.
If you get a message that the voucher has been redeemed, then you should be able to find your serial number in your account here, login, icon top right of the home page, with the original email address and password used to redeem the voucher code. The information and download if available should be under My products.

I have rung the German phone numbers associated with Magix and they just offer an IVR pointing to a web page.
What else could I do?

If the voucher code has already been used either, you have previously had the software installed on another computer but, apparently did not register it so it does not appear under "My products"; or, you bought the software "second-hand", i.e., it had been previously installed and registered by another user who had then sold it on but did not inform Magix that the registration in his name needed to be cancelled. If this is the situation for you, only that first purchaser can help you, if you know who it was and can contact them directly.
In either case I do not think there is anything that we, or any Magix staff can do to help you resolve the problem, sorry.
Ultimately, you may have to buy the latest version if you want to use the software!

I bought if "first hand" in a Saturn Shop that used to exist in Rivas Vaciamadrid H20 Shopping Centre. It was brand new. I'm sure about it.

Certainly for both. You can use the digitiser/grabber/Magix stick with Magix Video Deluxe, going pretty cheap at the moment, or you can buy another type of digitiser.
The problem you may have is that the digitiser stick you bought in ~2010 with Rescue Your Videotapes probably won't have drivers for Win 10/11. You can certainly give it a go though. If that fails, a good digitiser stick is the IOData GV-USB2, which I use a lot.
I would suggest buying the latest version of Video Deluxe (although I did see in another topic that Magix "should" be releasing a new version "in fall 2026").
To be honest, Video Deluxe is a far better option for editing your VHS captures. VideoEasy/Rescue Your Video Tapes is cheaper but very much cut-down and lacking in features.
