unwanted audio bouncing/bleeding

When recording an audio track,how do i stop all of the existing track bouncing into my audio track ?( i can turn all the track down and play,but i would prefer to hear all the track properly when recording.)

HI,

Depending on your soundcard and its control board (driver), you need a full duplex card (quite all are now full duplex).

You can select what you record on the control board (software) of your card :

. microphon
. line input
. "what you hear" (translation from French to English) : in this case you record all including the played tracks.

Generaly you can also select what you will listen.

I you have a low latency card, mute the track you record to avoid echo by reading the record. Mute off after.
