I have just purchased Movie Edit 2022 platinum edition but I can't see any difference between that and Movie Edit Pro Plus which I bought in February. Have I wasted my money on what I took to be an upgrade?

Movie Studio Platinum 2022 is the rebadged version of what was formerly known as Movie Edit Pro Premium (not Plus). So, no, you have not necessarily wasted your money but you should immediately email infoservice@magix.net, explain what has happened and ask if they will actually allow you to amend your order to receive the upgrade to Movie Studio Platinum, which is the same as the upgrade from Movie Edit Pro Plus to Movie Edit Pro Premium. You should then be entitled to at least a partial refund of what you have paid.

There is not much difference between those two versions. The version comparison website page can be found here.
Personally i would have gone from Plus to Suite. As Jeff has indicated you may be able to get in touch with Magix and ask for the upgrade rather than buying the new version. It may not cost you any extra.
