@William-Collins

Hi,

Check under Help, About. The current patch is 19.0.0.64291. Like me, you likely have the latest patch.

You have the perpetual version from Magix. There is also Xara + from Xara and that is at version 22. It is a subscription and things work differently - it is Cloud-based. You can check this at Xara.com.

Thank you for the response. I have the 19.0.0.64329 version. I clearly misunderstood the 'Year's Upgrade to the Latest Version' offer. I shan't make that mistake again!

Hi William,

You have the Update Service:

With the Update Service you will receive one full year of new features and updates for free, which can be used indefinitely. If you reinstall the program after one year, you will have access to the basic version without Update Service. After the one-year Update Service has expired you can extend it for a discounted price.

You have a perpetual version of Xara DPX.

Magix releases about 1 interim update with new features per version. Depending on when you purchased Xara from Magix, if version 20 comes out, you can download and install it as part of the Update Service. Just take note of the conditions about "If you reinstall the program after one year..." The basic version means the one that was available when you last paid. If you don't pay after the year is up, you can just keep on going with the perpetual program without access to the Online Catalog Content (make sure to have downloaded everything first). If you use the M-Hosting, you can pay for that separately.

Xara+ releases updates/new features as they become available - to the Cloud version, not to the perpetual version, as far as I know. You can ask on the TalkGraphics forum (which you should join).

With Xara+, you pay to play - no pay, no play.

During your 1 year, you get any new templates that are released in the OCC, so make sure to download everything again just before your year is up.

I pay to upgrade every two or three years unless I have to reinstall while out of cover.

I think that version 20 should be released sometime soon. Watch for it. I timed my last payment to be able to get version 20, I hope.
