ProDAD Hide 1.5 is not a plugin, it is a standalone feature, you will need to use the filter before importing into MP

Hi Ray.

Hide can be a very resources hungry effect depending on the complexity of the scene being worked on.

Out of the preferences options of how to calculate the effect within Hide I personally would avoid using pixel mapping as even very short clips can takes more than a few hours to render and will completely swamp the CPU of even the best performing processors, tying up the computer and making it hard to use for other tasks while waiting.

Above is me using pixel mapping within this clip for less than 30 seconds. Both shots are showing the CPU usage using an Intel i9-9900K. Using the stamp method is less intensive of the CPU and can also take advantage of both Intel inboard GPU and additional graphics cards. Export times are faster but results can be less effective dependent on the complexity of the background of the scene. The first image is showing the calculations frame by frame during me setting up the tracking while the second shot is showing CPU usage during export. Also note the amount of ram in use that increases throughout the rendering.

It is worth looking at all the tutorials to find Hide's limits as to what it can and can't do and how to use it which is sketchy at best. Also make sure your CPU has a very good cooler as the CPU will be working very hard for long periods with some selections. I think if it worked within an editor it would lock the editor up for long periods and not be available for preview within a playback scenario.

Ray.
