Using MM with a Steinberg UR22mkii audio interface

Hey all! Happy New Year and all that.

I recently got a Steinberg UR22mkii audio interface and so far all has been well. On the audio side I have VERY little problems with it in MM and a slew of other programs I use with it. However, I have decided to give the MIDI in/outs a go. I'm running my controller via midi to the steinberg then the steinberg goes to the 'puter via USB.

Like I said, audio is not a problem - the MIDI is SUPER sluggish. Basically it will not keep up hitting eighth notes at a 120 bpm clip.

Looking through the settings (unless I'm missing something here) there's very little to work with in terms of MIDI troubleshooting. It's basically on or off. Please tell me I'm missing a checkbox here or there. Been playing around for an hour or more. . . no luck. Just hoping someone out there is in or was in the same boat to give me some pointers.

Thanks!

@JoeSchmoe

Hello again!

First, if you have the 64 bit version of MM, this is actually MM2021.

Second, although I don't have a Steinberg interface I do run quite a big MIDI system with MM - I have a Midisport 4 x 4 MIDI interface connected, via USB, to my computer, so up to 4 separate physical MIDI inputs can be used simultaneously, i.e 64 channels, although I've never needed to use all 64 simultaneously - and I've never experienced any sort of lag, or latency, in the MIDI transmission to MM.

So, I would have to suggest that the problem is NOT with MM, but rather with your Steinberg interface! I note you say there appear to be no settings with it which you can change so, perhaps, you need to contact Steinberg Support, or its user forums, to ask for help there.

In the context of your other post, I think you really do need to choose your words, and the target of your anger, rather more carefully.
