Hi

Should have asked this earlier.

In the Burn settings, is the audio set to Stereo as shown in the image sequence below

If it is can you post a screenshot of your Encoder settings dialog (middle image above)

John EB

Hi John

Thanks for your message.
Yes, the encoder Set up is H264 / AC3 /STEREO.
That's the whole issue, when burning a BR, the error message says " audio format not supported, please select stereo", as if I had selected 5.1! But no it's stereo.

This drives me crazy.
I have done a lot of things with tech support, no solution. They claim there is no other cases, and they can't reproduce it.

FYI i have been able to encode in H264 /AC3 Stereo with another app than VDL. So I don't think it's a Windows 10 N+Mediapack issue. I believe VDL has screwed up a flag somewhere in windows....

Dear all, as it seems I am stuck with that BluRay/AC3 Stereo bug, and Tech Support has no solution, I am looking forward to move away from VDL for this reason, and also because I have been waiting for + 5 years for VDL to support subtittles streams and Hi Res PCM Audio.
Does any of you has experience with TMPGEnc Authoring Works 6 and TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 7?

Thanks

Eric

Hi Eric.

If I were looking at new software the first place I would look at is the user forums for common problems.

Talking about common problems and no-one here or at Magix seeming to be able to replicate your problem. I see you have Windows Media Pack installed. Does it contain additional codecs? I ask because I don't have it on my system and I don't think John has it on his and adding additional codecs has provided MEP (VLD) with problems in the past if I'm remembering correctly. I'm now wondering if this could be related with your problem.

Hi Ray
Thanks.

When I was in touch with Tech Support, They had me to reinstall the Windows10 embedded "Media pack" Application via the Control Panel, and as well all other Windows "media "' options, as a try.

It seems that for whatever reason, VDL believe I am always trying to export AC3 5.1 although it is set up to stereo.

At the end they blame Windows 10 Pro N, but Microsoft clearly states that W10 N + mediapack = Windows 10.

Also, I have successully used other BluRay Export app with AC3 Stereo without any issue. WOuld itbe a WIndows 10 AC3 codec issue, I think I would probably have it with all apps?

Anyway I am stuck now...

Hi Eric.

So looking up Windows Pro 10 N would appears to be Windows Pro 10 without Windows Media Player and related technologies pre-installed including Music, Video, Voice Recorder and Skype. Hence your need to add the pack.

I can only assume (as this appears to be the only difference I can see), that somehow that difference may have caused a problem. Totally weird. Have you asked Microsoft if it should make any differences to how Win 10 is working or is there something not in the media pack that is in the other versions of Win 10?

I am asking because what if you swap editors and find you similar problems with the next editor?

I confess I had never heard of Win 10 N before or why it was an option.

Hi Ray

I have looked up to microsoft forums and FAQ which seems to confirm win10 Pro N (enterprise version) + media pack is equal to WIndow Enterprise.

Contact them seems to be a headache. didn't find any way in.

Hi Eric.

Sadly getting any form of help on line from any software company is getting harder and harder as the years progress. Hence the rise of user forums. Cheaper by far and a filter between users and staff.

I did have a look at the Pegasys website and my only concern is the amount of discontinued products. Normally such products get no further tech support once they are declared discontinued.

The forums are remarkably empty of posts. The authoring software does look the part but someone has complained that the video authoring of the editing program is nowhere near as good. I also notice the video editor requires quite a hefty nvdia specified card as a minimum requirement. In fact read all of the multiple pages regarding what can and can't be encoded and the needed hardware support for each part of each process.

I can't make up my mind if they are being very helpful or burring needed information so far down the pages that they can later say 'but it states this or that in the specifications pages'. There are literally thousands and thousands of lines of text on that page alone and takes some digesting.

Assuming you are not going above HD specifications most of that won't matter unless you are editing files using newer codecs from phones or varied sources.

Hi

Do you have a Surround Sound speaker system connected to to your computer and set to Surround sound in the Windows, Sound settings?

Are you getting this error message

If you click Ignore, the burn should continue and the result be in stereo.
