Hi folks,
I recently upgraded from Vegas Pro 14 to 18. I have been using 14 for years on the same machine (details below).
Right out of the gate, I am seeing heavy flickering, stuttering and frame dropping on a variety of footage types (from different cameras and frame rates). This happens during Video Preview, and if I pre-render or render a full file. It also happens whether I have GPU acceleration enabled or not.
These drops appear as full black frames, and occur randomly, but if the project is open, they stay in the same place. Meaning, if I move the cursor onto the problem area, the video preview is 100% black.
This is not a performance issue, as I've been working with the exact same file types on the exact same machine prior to upgrading to Vegas 18. I also have Vegas 13 still installed, and when I test the files there, I get zero issues.
Everything is up to date: Vegas 18 recently updated (no fix), and my GPU and Windows 10 are also up to date.
My specs:
- CPU: i7-6700K 4.0Ghz
- GPU: RTX 2070 Super
- RAM: 32GB
- Vegas Installed on SSD
I've tried a few fixes I've found through googling, with no luck (including turning off OpenCL/GL in the developer settings)
It's not a great feeling to pay hundreds of dollars to upgrade to a version that is literally unusable, compared with the previous one.
Any help is appreciated!
