Welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users community @PeteLevin.

SF-14 will NOT overwrite SF-10 or any other version of SF. Multiple versions will coexist w/o issue (and this includes both 64 and 32 bit). I have Pro-10,12,13 and 14 installed on the same PC and still use SF Pro-10 on occasion as I prefer some aspects of the legacy version's plug-in chainer and record UI.
FWIW, the next Pro-14 build will allegedly bring back the legacy remote record option, which was removed in Pro-11 and later.

That's great to hear. All I wanted to do was upgrade Vegas. SF14 came bundled with it - on the surface, not a bad deal for $60, unless it was somehow a skinny version of SF that would lessen its power. No problem keeping both versions while I study SF14.

I've had the Vegas install window just holding there; now I'll let it go ahead. Thanks for your comments. Much appreciated. Pete

One of the Vegas Pro 18 deals includes SF Pro 14. I have not heard of a $60 (usd) Vegas Pro deal.. at least not from Magix. The list price alone of SF AS (Audio Studio) is around $60 as I recall.

In any case it will not overwrite SF-10.
