Video Audio huge sync problem

Deano22 wrote on 6/12/2021, 12:46 PM

Hi Everyone!

I am long time Magix User and have the most frustrating problem.......

When I import a video on the timeline and start cutting it up, suddenly the audio is COMPLETELY out of sync with the video, it doesnt match up at all.....then if I start the playback from the beggining of the timeline it will appear in sync.......however if I export the project it will always be out of sync

Also whilst playing back the out of sync project in the timeline, sometimes there will be random frames pop up and dissapear again......this problem leaves me unable to work on video at all :(

I thought at first maybe it was a problem with a video codec so I used handbrake to convert the video and THEN tried re-importing to Magix but still the same problem! No matter what the file type is, or what type of video, it simply wont sync the audio to the video.........at one point I even tried seperating the audio from the video and line it up manually but that still didnt work because it would randomly be out of sync again

I really would appreciate some help if anyboy can?

Thanks

@Deano22

Hi and welcome to the forum.

This is a very well known issue and has been covered many times in the forum - however as you have tried the suggested fixes please give us more information on the source files you are using ie download and install MediaInfo, analyse one of the clips giving the problem, and post the analysis results from the Text view in MediaInfo.

Also which variant and version number of Movie Edit Pro are you using?

Hi Dean.

To add to John's request it may also be useful to see the data from a file you converted to see if the conversion fixed the problem.

Hi John! Thanks for such a quick reply!

Just out of curiosty I downloaded a youtube video (mp4) and tried to load that into Magix and same exact issue. I am running Magix Movie Edit Pro 2021

Whats very odd is I still have my old installer of magix movie edit 2019 and all the video files work perfectly including the youtube video. Is there anyway to fix this? Or do you think I should just keep with the roll back?

@Deano22

Hi

. . . . Just out of curiosty I downloaded a youtube video (mp4) and tried to load that into Magix and same exact issue. I am running Magix Movie Edit Pro 2021 . . . .

Youtube downloads are normally Variable frame rate (VFR) and does not help with the issue you are having unless the video files are also download from Internet.

VFR which is the most common cause of the issue you are having, the other cause is the older MPG file format.

We do need the Mediainfo analysis of both the source file and, as @CubeAce has asked, the Handbrake modified file.

. . . . I still have my old installer of magix movie edit 2019 and all the video files work perfectly including the youtube video. . . . .

There is no comparison between Movie Edit Pro (MEP) 2019 and 2021, as there has been a significant change in the core 'engine' with MEP 2021 uses the newer 'Infusion 2' engine, MEP 2019 uses a much older 'engine'.
