Video Deluxe 2026 initial testing bugs (?)

johnebaker wrote on 7/3/2025, 3:04 AM

Initial testing of VDL 2026 appears to have the following bugs:

In the Import tab (Media Pane), Shortcut pane :

  • Cloud import opens the Magix Contents folder

  • Magix Contents and Magix Downloads open default Projects folder

Can someone please confirm the above.

Thanks

John EB

Hi, without considering plugins, that is, just natively, have you found anything that does not exist or has been improved in VDL 2026 compared to previous versions? (This is because I downloaded VPX 17 on another machine that is much faster than my usual one, and it seems to me that it has something more fluid, but I'm not sure. In the German forum it seems that someone expressed something along these lines)

@Roberto-Goncalves

I wrote this in the German forum.

Working with 10-bit 4:2:0 material on the timeline has never been as stable and largely smooth for me with any Magix version as with this version. (Even better than Magix Vegas 22.)

My hardware resources are apparently utilized much better in VPX17 than in all previous versions.

Editing video material with different FPS rates, and also mixed with material containing variable frame rates, also works much better in my initial tests.

No asynchrony or image errors have occurred so far.

I used footage from:

Go Pro 2.7K 240 FPS (constant)
Samsung S23 60 FPS (variable)
Xiaomi 14 120 FPS (variable)
Panasonic GH6 60 FPS (constant)

However, with my hardware, I reach the absolute limits of performance when editing 10-Bit video footage.

On the other hand, 8-bit video footage now runs smoothly with my hardware up to 5.7K 30 FPS, or with GoPro files at 5.3K 30 FPS Image format 8:7.

The previous Video Pro X versions regularly crashed for me.

I couldn't even get the software to crash intentionally.
Video Pro X 17 sometimes had delays of up to 30 seconds, but unlike previous versions, it didn't crash.

What I can do, however, is crash Pro X17 with HEIC images in the P3 color space. The Pro X17 can't handle this properly.

This is because I downloaded VPX 17 on another machine that is much faster than my usual one, and it seems to me that it has something more fluid

My clear hardware recommendation for editing 10-bit video material is therefore:

CPU at least Intel Core i7 12700K or AMD Ryzen 5800X

GPU at least NVidia RTX 2060 SUPER or AMD RX 6700 XT

RAM at least 32 GB.

Magix Video Deluxe 2022 Premium (2.138)

Rechner: MSI Leopard GP76 , Intel I7-10870H,

NVidia RTX 3060 Mobile (TDP=130 Watt) (6GB),
Treiber-Version: 32.0.15.6636

Arbeitsspeicher RAM 16GB,

Intel HD 630 On-Board I-GPU= Zur Zeit aktiviert. ( Weil Windows GPU Planung jetzt besser funktioniert )

Windows 10 (Auto-Update + Manuell)

Weitere Video Software: Pinnacle Studio 25 Ultimate und seit 12.06.2025 KDENLIVE 25.04.02 mit Objekt Segmentation SAM2.
Konverter: XMedia-Recode (Jan. 2025) , Handbrake

Since 03.02.2024 experementil successfull with K-Lite-Codec Pack.
( Zum Import von ProRes Material mit Bild und Ton auch in 4:2:2 )

( Windows 11 kann ich nicht. Krieg ich Blähungen und Bluthochdruck von )

@Marc-Goder

Hi Marc

Thanks for the feedback, and your usability analysis.

I will have to check the performance with HEVC 10 bit 50fps 4K UHD D-Cine, most of my video is currently in this format.
