@Skyline_UK

Hi

. . . . the new version hangs everytime I load clips . . . My PC should be powerful enough. . . .

Unfortunately this is not so, the i9-9940X has no integrated iGPU which VDL could use, and the GT 1030 does not support NVENC which is a requirement for VDL to be able to use a Nvidia GPU.

This means all decoding, processing and encoding of video is being done by the CPU and depending on the imported video encoding format and resolution, eg FullHD (1920 x 1080) HEVC/h.265 encoded, or 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) encoded h.264 (AVC) or h.265/HEVC, the system, despite the CPU having 14 cores, may be overloaded.

To determine if the video is the cause of the issue, download and install MediaInfo and analyse one of the clips and post the results, see this tutorial on how to setup MediaInfo and analyse a video clip for all the data required.

You can re-install the older version you previously had, the installer should be available to download in your account at magix.com under My Products, account login icon is top right of the home page, and also ask for a refund if you are still within the returns grace period.

How much free space is there on your C: drive and do you have a second hard drive installed?
