Video not displayed in Source Monitor

I took video with my camera that uses the file extension *.MTS on the video files. VPX will import the videos and show them in the channel strip. However, regardless of where along the strip I place the cursor, the video is not displayed in the source monitor. I hear the audio on playback, but video is not displayed, and I cannot edit the video. I converted the MTS to mp4, but that did not fix the problem. HELP! How do I get the video to display in the source monitor?

Have you accidentality muted the video track or soloed the audio track?

Assuming you do mean the Source monitor, and not the Program monitor, then the Source monitor only:

  • displays the video/images that you select/play from the Media Pane.
  • displays the 'original' vs the 'result', in the Program monitor, when applying some effects.

The program monitor displays what is placed on the timeline tracks (the strip).
