Video pro X causing random extremely loud audio distortion

sirsandman wrote on 6/9/2021, 6:58 PM

just recently, I have been having issues with the audio for all tracks becoming heavily distorted, loud, and lower in pitch. I am unsure of what is causing this and it only is fixed when I close and reopen magix, only to happen again at a random time. I noticed it mostly happens after I slice a track.

hardware info:

Asus Strix G GL531 GL531GT-XS53

intel core i7 (10th gen)

nvidea rtx graphics card

144HZ monitor

any fixes?

UPDATE: this now also affects the file when I download it

@sirsandman

This problem is almost certainly being caused by an Audio buffer overflow. Please show us a screenshot of your File>Program settings>Playback tab, especially the Audio buffer settings.

I've attached a screenshot of my settings; yours will almost certainly be different, but try increasing the settings in the highlighted boxes.

I already fixed the issue but I will do that the next time I encounter this error

well I was out of Ideas so I used my screen recorder to record the video from the video editor and whenever the audio glitched out I just restarted magix and resumed the recording from that point until I eventually re-recorded it and then used the video editor to cut out the parts where the audio glitched out

From this it certainly sounds like an audio buffer size or number issue as Jeff suggested.
