I changed the settings to be like the ones in your image file but still have exactly the same problem. If I start the project playing from the start and don't stop it, it will play through to the end. If I stop it, or if I move the cursor to a point part way through the project and then try to play the project, the program is frozen and I have to terminate it in task manager and re-boot it. I've noticed that when I stop it part wasy through, the soundtrack plays on for a few seconds after the video has stopped.

Hi Rod.

Can you do a screenshot of the playback section of your program settings please?

Can you use the Wave driver or are you stuck with using Direct sound?

If you are using the wave driver try not to use more than 4 buffers. If you have 4 try lowering them to two and increase the samples but no more than one increase at a time and see if you get a more stable output and playback.

Don't worry if it doesn't look exactly as the one I'm posting.I'm only interested in the area I have boxed in yellow that should look the same.

Then if you can, have Task Manager open while playing VPX and take a note of the memory use. Does the amount of memory drop straight away when you press stop or does it continue to decline for a short while and then drop?

Can I also ask what frame rates and resolutions you are working at?

Have been trying to upload screen shot and video clip for you but not working. Small wmv files but won't upload.

I'm sure the site doesn't accept wmv files but have to be mp4 and very small. (less than 4MBs)

That's why I tend to stick to putting up jpgs or upload a video to YouTube and link it to here.

I didn't notice a limit on the upload size (MP4). I have not had any not upload so far.

As well. wmv files should upload as they are on the list. Strange.

The file size limit is much higher than 4MB, I uploaded a FullHD 63MB file yeaterday with no issue.

Sorry guys.

I had tried in the past and been unsuccessful. I assumed it was either my file sizes were too large or people were uploading to different servers. Any idea where the guidance is or could there be a sticky on how to post to the site for people including how to use block quotes and links for newcomers? I'm still not sure what the insert code is for.
