Video track does not "self-seal" when ads removed

I am using 22.0.1.270

When I delete an ad from recorded free-to-air TV I have to manually move the remaining video to the left to re-join the movie. It used to self-seal.

What setting have I mucked up?

Don't know about 'mucked up', however it sounds like you have switched the mouse to Single object mode -keyboard shortcut 6 , if you have only one track occupied then switch to Single Track Mode - shortcut key 8, if you have multiple tracks occupied then switch to All Tracks mode shortcut key 7

Note the keyboard shortcuts are the top row of numbers, not the keypad to the right of the keyboard if it has one.

Alternatively use the indicated icons in image below to switch modes:

In addition to what @johnebaker has written, I use the shortcut Ctrl+Del, which achieves the same end!
