I just had a splash screen start to popup when starting VPX for VPX 13 365 and on checking Magix main site it is part of purchasing now. I just wish they would sort VPX 13 out at the moment as I would not want to pay monthly for what it is at the moment.

As I understand it you don't have to switch to a 365 subscription. Just select New Purchase or Upgrade to continue with a one off payment and keep program rather than a subscription based one where the program would become inactive on cancellation.
Those options will probably roll out to MEP as well but so far there are no additional benefits offered with additional monthly online content being available to subscribers as there is for the Vegas users.

Looking at the costs it's slightly cheaper than the one off purchase I made for VPX 13 this time. I have had a look at PowerDirector 365 and that is, when full price, around £5prm, and that is with access to a lot of video/audio content.

According to what I was told by Magix, this is, thankfully, not true!
Cancelling any subscription will leave the user with the version they had at the time of cancellation, so no further updates; and try to ensure you never need to reinstall!
OTOH, the rather well-known major American maker of video editing products does prevent further usage of any cancelled subscription product!

The cost variance is down to being able to continue to use the program beyond the one year purchase date. You are buying a 'right' to continue using the product. With monthly payments the product will stop working when the contract ends.
Yes PD does offer a lot of additional content.

I think the main problem is for those with variable income as opposed to stable salaries. I'm glad there is an option to keep both types of options open.
