VST Plugins

Zandrich-Mynhardt wrote on 1/14/2021, 7:13 AM

Let me just confirm;

I've purchased a pro license for Music Maker (not free trial; my product is activated, and I've made several purchases via the store) - In order to use VSTs I own (at all), I need to purchase an additional "Creative Suite" add-on?

Hi,

There is no "pro license" for Music Maker and Music Maker is free. What did you actually purchase.

See the comparison table for the Free version, Plus and Premium Editions.

Hi browj2,

I purchased the EDM Edition for 20USD, which included a VST as well as a few soundpools, etc. It's the VST functionality I was after, presupposed package including a VST = VST compatibility.

@Zandrich-Mynhardt

Which version of Music Maker is installed? See under Help, About.

As far as I know, the EDM edition is just the Free version plus an instrument and a few soundpools. The instrument is a Magix instrument and does not require VSTi access.

To be able to use third party VST's and VSTi's in MMM2021, you need to purchase the VST plugin or the Plus Edition (for 64 bit plugins) or the Premium Edition for both 32 bit plugins with the bridge and 64 bit plugins. See the comparison table that I referenced.

You'll know that you have VST access when you see this:

Hi John,

I figured as much. I'll have to stick to LMMS until I purchase the "Creative Suite" addon that allows me to use VST plugins. On that note; where would I find the royalty-free soundpools I've purchased via the store? I'll need to port my current projects over to LMMS, fear I might have to re-start a few workflows but that's quite alright.

Thanks so much for your assistance, you've been a great help.

@Zandrich-Mynhardt You can see on John CBs screenshot that in the Program Settings window is also the path to the Soundpools. You just need to look up the path in your settings. There you'll find the Soundpools.

You can also download the Soundpools from your user account at producerplanet.com in case you have not done so already.

One more thing, it is usually less expensive to purchase a Plus or Premium edition than to start purchasing features, instruments, preset, and Soundpools individually. Look at the comparison table on the Magix.com website.

I've used ProducerPlanet before, it was easier to navigate than the store in the software itself. I'll pick up my Soundpools there.

Thank you!

I'm strongly considering it. Do my previous add-on purchases (like 5.1 Surround) carry over when I purchase Plus/Premium?

Thank you for all the help!
