Wanting to change colors for certain image to black or white

I'm trying to edit a photo with colors but want to turn certain colors black and some whit but hues only allow me to change to every other color would like some help as i am new to this.

Thank you for the video but with hues of colors white and black are not options and that is what i am looking for.

Once you have selected the colour(s) to change, set the Contrast control to 100, then set Brightness to -100 for black or +100 for white as shown below - note I have several colours already selected as shown by the red circles.
