WebDesigner 20 iPhone link problem

doane wrote on 7/6/2026, 12:41 PM

For iPhone I want to click the button to reveal the image in the next screen shot below and I want that image to stay there until I click it to link to that 2dArt page The three buttons and post card and yellow text are on the MouseOff layer

With the image visible here I want to click it to take me to the 2dArt page.

The new yellow text with a hiding shape behind it, the red text, the painting and the two greyed out buttons are on a upper 2dArt layer. The painting image is supposed to link to the 2dArt page when clicked and has a link anchor name. The 2d button links to that link anchor name when clicked, supposedly, but the whole thing doesn't work. The iPhone can't hover like the computer can. When I click the 2d button it takes me straight to the 2d page without opening the painting image first and letting me click it to link to the 2d page.

Im sure there's a way to do this, but I can't figure it out, any halp appreciated.

@doane

Hi

Mobile devices do not have some features equivalent to a PC/MAC mouse options, in particular the mouse over action and several others.

The simplest fix is to set the painting image mouse 'on-click / tap' action to reveal the card image, and set the card image click / tap action to go to the appropriate web page.

I'm having another problem.. for the mobile I took John's advice for the mobile and it works great for non hover iPhone.

I'm having another very strange problem on the main hover setup. Some older JPG buttons worked, but newer ones don't trigger the uper layers where I have the reveal images. I included this web with the problem and am hoping someone can figure out what is wrong. When I use the newer buttons it doesn't work with the exact same positions. I can't upload a .web file so I will have to send it some otherway. Here is a screen shot

For the three buttons in the main variant you would use MouseOver properties for the button to show the popup. The link is then visible when you MouseOver the button.
The mobile variant can be managed in a different way, but when you use a link to one popup, you need to close any that are open. Your grey rectangles on each mobile popup need to be above the image in the stack, or the links will not trigger.
Here is an example; there are though many ways to manage mobile popups.
