When I try to export two tracks at 1920x1080 the 1st track is black

adamyhap wrote on 4/8/2015, 8:34 PM

Hey guys,

Currently I have two videos that are both 1920x1080, 60fps.  I have these two videos set up like gaming footage where one video is small in the corner.

When I try to export as 720p I have no problems but the moment I try to export the video as 1080p the second video is completely black and I am left with just the webcam video in the top left.

My movie settings are NTSC FullHD 60p.

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Thanks in advance!

Hi

It would help if you gave us more information:

Which version of MEP you are using ?

Which export format and 1080p setting preset are you using ?

A screen shot of the timeline would also help.

Hey John,

I am using Movie Edit Pro 2015 Plus

For exporting I am doing MPEG-4 with HDTV 1920x1080 H264 59,94 FPS, but basically any preset I use thats over 1280x720 is causing the problem.

Here is what it looks like when I am exporting 1080:

This picture shows how it works when I use 720:

Hi

In the export dialog select the Advanced button and check the Streamable option .

If that does not fix the problem try turning off Hardware acceleration in the programs settings.

While trying to replicate your problem I came across another when trying to export mp4.

Either of these fixed the problem I had with no video and a zero file size which is a problem I have had before in MEP 2014 which mysteriously disappeared.

Hey John,

I tried these and it did not work. I also tinkered around with other options. I did find out that even in the preview I cannot enter that resolution. It says that max is 1916x72<something>. Also, If i try to export as the resolution higher after 1920x1080 it works even though it is choppy as hell.

Hi

Are you on the latest update for MEP 2015? It should be the one John CB stickied at the top of the forum. It is common for Magix to tweak export preset settings in patches and the latest 14.0.0.172 is no exception.

If you are already on it or after updating select File >Settings>reset program settings to defaults and try to export again. This will make sure anything you have inadvertantly changed in the encoder settings goes back to the default presets Magix determined as optimum.

After resetting check the values in the Advanced MPEG Intel export window at the right of your 3rd Screenshot and see if they have changed. I say this because the CPB - Coded Picture Buffer setting looks extraordinarily low for the bitrate you have set. It should be similar size to your Max Bitrate when using VBR.

(Edit: - I just realised that this is set correctly in your screen shot - it is stated in KiloBytes which is 8 x as many Kilobits. Still worth doing the program update and / or reset and trying my other suggestions though.)

Mainconcepts advice "It controls the size of the buffers needed to encode video. If it is too low, you will get buffer
overflows, which could show up as stuttering video. Software decoders usually ignore the
buffer sizes, but most hardware players will have problems if the buffer size is not correct."

Also your GOP length seems quite long at 60 ? - can't quite read it but MEP presets usually have this at 33 for H264 50/60fps exports. You would only raise this if you were looking for a higher rate of compression to fit within a limited bitrate stream and this should not be the case with the 36000kbps you have set.

I do not have MEP2015 with the Intel encoding option but the MainConcept encoders in previous versions of MEP always have HRD ticked for AVCHD H264 encodes and throw an error if it is not selected.

Some things to try.

Peter
