Why does it refuse to install my soundpools sometimes?

Unfortunately, this has been an ongoing problem with the Magix Music Maker programmes sometimes, and it seems Music Maker 2026 Premium appears to be no different. I do the right protocol to try to get the programme to accept a sound pool folder into its soundpool collections, but sometimes it refuses to accept some and add them, why?, what am i doing wrong exactly?. I click on that cog wheel icon that appears in the bottom right hand corner of the screen, then i select "add new soundpools", i go to the folder directory to where it is, click on the "OK" button, and it doesnt get added into the soundpools window

@rob-torrison Which Soundpool doesn't work?

Be aware, this only works for Magix Soundpools, not for loop packs from other vendors. A Soundpool needs a certain folder structure and some metadata files.

Please also check, that you don't have a filter enabled in the Soundpool tab, so you can see everything.

It's also recommend to not store such data in a folder that gets synchronized with OneDrive cloud storage.

Oh, the soundpools have to be official Magix soundpools?, i didnt realise that. Some of my non Magix soundpools though it has automatically accepted into my soundpool library, without me even prompting it to, how weird. One of the ones i have tried to prompt into the soundpools library is an official Magix one, its my collection of Movie Score events. Over the last 15 years though i have bought and downloaded many of the volumes of Movie Score and ive put them into the one massive folder. There's no way that now though that i have a chance of remembering what loops came from what volume of Movie Score. Any hints you can give me though on how im supposed to construct the folder layout so that the programme will accept them, would be most appreciated.

@rob-torrison You can simply drag and drop files from Windows Explorer into your project or you can utilize the in-built file browser. Anyway, you can create custom Soundpools the following way:

Create a folder for your custom Soundpool, then create a text file and name it BPM.inf

Make sure you can see file endings in the Windows Explorer to be able to change the file type to inf

I believe most Magix Score Soundpools are in A minor, and have 80 BPM, so make sure all loops in your custom Soundpool have the same key and tempo. Open the BPM.inf in a text editor and add the following text:

BPM=80

[HarmonyTable]
Scale=a

Sample1=a
Sample2=h
Sample3=C
Sample4=d
Sample5=e
Sample6=F
Sample7=G

Small letter represent a minor chord and big letters major chords. This text will assign the loops to the seven different pitches inside the Soundpool tab, based on the number at the end of their filename.

Then simply create category subfolders for your loops, for example Brass, Strings, Woodwinds, Percussion and so on and put your loops inside them.

That's all. After that you should be able to add the folder to the Soundpool tab. Very old Soundpools don't have any other files either.

You can add additional files, for example cover_128x128.png and cover_600x600.png for a cover artwork.
