Why does Movie Edit Pro 16 continue to crash?

matt.stjacques wrote on 12/23/2013, 11:52 AM

Every time I attempt to burn a project to a DVD, this program crashes and restarts. I have searched the web and these forums but have not been able to find any solution that works. It is incredibly frustrating.

I have had continuous issues with this program in the past with it not doing what it is supposed to do. I don't understand why it has such high reviews when it is, in my experience, been an incredibly abysmal program and completely not worth the money.

Hi

Can you give us more information: -

   -   your full computer specification

   -   the error message, if any you get when it crashes

   -   post a section of the error log from the start of the burn process upto and including where the error occurs.

Also when did you purchase MEP 16?

. . . . I have had continuous issues with this program in the past with it not doing what it is supposed to do . . .

Can you explain this statement further?  What is it, that it will not do, that you want it to do?

Come back with all the information asked and then we may be able to help you.

John

Hi,
I really have to agree with John, without this type of information we would all just be taking a guess at what might or could be going on.  It is like if you sent a message to Microsoft and said "why does windows always crash?"  Their answer would be something like "what version of Windows, what Processor, how much ram, which service packs are installed, what error are you seeing, and on and on and on".  The more information that you supply, the better, more accurate, and the least amount of wasted time on your part.  I could probably give you 20 reasons why you may see MEP v16 crashing while trying to burn a project. A few or possible none would actually be of any use to you and would send you off trying things That may or may not help.  Please know that we on this forum neither work for Magix nor do we receive any compensation of benefits from helping the user community.  We are all users just like you who have perhaps a little or in some cases a lot more experience so you really need to help us help you by providing enough detail to help us get to the root of the problem.  There are no magic answers to vague questions without enough information.
