Why does this export differ to what I see on my edit screen?

CubeAce wrote on 1/23/2020, 9:10 AM

I'm trying to export a short clip to re-import into another project with effects added to reduce processing needs. However, the exported file is not the same as I have showing in the editing screen. None of the shape altering or picture sizing seems to transfer onto the export.

Any Ideas as to why this isn't working? The two effects are Size / Position and Distortion.

Hi Ray,

Just a guess, but you have the blue lightning bolt turned on. Try exporting with it off.

Questions

  1. Why are you not exporting to mxv for this?
  2. Why are you exporting. Is it to reduce the overhead of the second project or is it just because you did this in one project and you want it in another?

Hi Ray

Works fine here, whether blue lightning bolt is turned on or off.

. . . . The two effects are Size / Position and Distortion . . . . .

Did you apply these as 2 distinct effects, if so you do not need to do this - the 3D Distortion can take care of both the distortion and position.

Can you post an image of the timeline, including the track headers.

Hi John.

Answers in order.

1. I don't need this to be high quality, in fact probably the lower the better.

2. For both reasons 😉

Will get to blue lightning explanation in John's reply.

@johnebaker

Hi John.

Did you try it with a video clip. It's not a still image. I should have said, sorry.

I tried at least six ways of doing this, with and without backgrounds. With only using the 3D Distortion and with size / position as well.

I should have realised there was something wrong because each time I didn't use the blue lightning bolt to keep the resolution reduced it also showed as a full screen.

Anyhow. I ended up putting the clip directly into the other project and it exported with no problems from there.

To explain why I'm doing this.

I'm making one project and saving many versions of it with different tracks muted for each export and saved under each topic for export. The Project only keeps the beginning and end credit animations with a specific time between beginning and end along with a countdown timer where I'll be placing live action or more animation or eventually screen grabs.

Here are some examples.

Timings have yet to be set for fade points etc. I've decided to make my own sound tracks and animations to avoid problems.

Ray.
