I love this Afro Rhythm. You might recognize this track as having many of the same elements as "Off Road". I used my old Fender Strat for the 1st guitar part that you hear. But I performed the solo synth track on my new MIDI guitar. This guitar,I am told, was born from a desire to have more control and function for the video game Rock Band. It is glitchy(sometimes those are the best parts)but it costs about 10x less than a proper MIDI guitar. It doesn't use strings,in the traditional sense of the word, they are more like raised courses on the fretboard with sensors embedded in the neck. So bending strings is out of the question(I have to use the "whammy bar" for pitch bending). I think neck sensors are an advantage over the more traditional MIDI guitars which tend to have a bit of latency as a result of the analog to digital conversion process. Anyway,I'm having fun with it.

Ted....AmAzInG!!!  I love the sound of this MIDI guitar ; and you know....who cares about cost and all that...sometimes the more frugal equipment is VERY adequate...especially in the hands of a musical master like yourself!

The song, too is quite sweet...Love that rhythm too!

I have no idea how many genres you combined here, but I love the result. The midi guitar sounds phenomenal! Excellent work as always! 5*

I've never seen a midi guitar before. I did once play with a guitar that had a adapter on the bridge that was connected to a keyboard. Seem to me then the reaction time was a little off, also it wouldn't allow me to bend the strings. That was a long time ago. This is a real good track you've done. I guess the midi guitar will allow for a whole bunch more possiblities. Very cool stuff!

hi Ted

you have a lot of creativity in your songs

is good your experiment with midi guitar

I think a midi guitar is like a synthesizer, has a lot of sonic possibilities

Hm... if I compare the Midi-guitar with your dobro, the dobro wins.

But the Midi-guitar is also a very interesting instrument. I think that would be a very nice playtoy for me ^^

I especially like the tunes which sounds like a Theremin.

Your passion for this instrument is demonstrated. I note here, that you have a great control.
Whatever its form, its name, its Special features .... Guitar (that I speak to her of course), between your fingers experts had better behave.
Vintage 2011, will be a good year .... you made the demo ....

ciaooooo da sandro

Sandro Glavina is an italian composer, named L'Uomo e L'Ombra. The choice of the name derives from the title of the album "L'uomo e l'ombra" of the band "Abstract Music Nuova Esistenza", an experimental group founded by Sandro Glavina together with his friends in the mid-70s.

In the period 2009-2022, L'Uomo e L'Ombra has done 84 albums. The compositions of Sandro Glavina are partly influenced by progressive rock. Sandro has developed a personal style with many experimentations and actualizations. He offers music beyond borders by intertwining different styles in crossover with each other. Prog, psychedelia, classical, post-rock, jazz, pop are some of the influences that dissolve in ambient atmospheres, citations of contemporary music and minimalist nuances. Sandro Glavina aka L'Uomo e L'Ombra plays the music using VSTI synthesizers, keyboards and adds some loops. Sandro isn't a professional musician, composes and plays music just for fun, but his works reach a good outcome, pleasant to listen. L'UOMO E L'OMBRA

It´s a matter of habit to use a guitar without strings like your new MIDI-guitar for a natural guitar-player. And I think, you did a very good job here. The synth solo, performed with the MIDI-Guitar, sounds great. This purchase was worthwhile, think about the millions of sounds you now are able to use. And that there is no latency - this is a huge advantage. To play with latency - it´s the hell. You can´t develop a feeling for what you play, if there is a delay between doing and hearing what you have done.

Once again: congratulation for the millions of new possibilities you entered by buying this nice instrument.

Hey Ted,

Thats a quirky but very cool tune my friend.

Now thats the kind of guitar i would consider getting, being a bit of a tekky and all.

Like 30th century Beck! Very cerebral, yet primal in a sense....always a pleasure to hear your work.

Hi Guitorb,

Wow.. thats pretty cool. I play guitar, but i never tried a midi guitar. I can see how it would give more control. You are very good at mixing and producing too.

This is (for me) an absolute amazing piece of music. Still I like the fender sound of the intro and extro maybe a bit more but this MIDI guitar solo is very cool. Nice toy!
