Desert Night

Greetings Magix community,

I live in the southwestern United States, in the mountainous high desert. The landscape here is truly enchanting; yet sometimes I think and dream of a mysterious desert landscape in a distant land. This piece—"Desert Night"—is my musical expression of the mood and sound of that distant desert landscape that exists in my dreams. Amidst the silence of this desert world, you may occasionally hear me playing my acoustic lyre in the distance within this song. Perhaps you share my dream of that distant land and its culture. Or—if you happen to live in that land yourself—perhaps you feel the very same way about my home here in the high desert of New Mexico.

It appears that uploading audio files to Magix has recently been restricted to the MP3 format (presumably to save storage space on the Magix servers). Under certain circumstances, this can result in a loss of sound quality. It is likely best to first record the master track at the highest possible quality before converting it to the MP3 format. This is exactly the approach I took here.

My best wishes to all ...

Mark ;)

Yes Mark, everyone feels comfortable where they currently live and enjoys their familiar surroundings. But many people also dream of living somewhere else someday. I usually feel that way after a vacation. Then I dream at night that I'm living in that vacation spot and enjoying that beautiful area every day. 😉

You've perfectly captured your dream musically in this fantastic chill-out track! A truly beautiful piece of work with great music and perfect sound! 💯💯💯💯💯👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍💯💯💯💯💯👌👌👌👌👌👑👑👑👑👑💯💯💯💯💯

Stay healthy, see you soon, and greetings from Sylvio 😎

Hi Mark...this is ambient music, how ambient music should be, great and beautiful. We here in Europe don't have many deserts. Okay, dry areas, sure, but not comparable to other deserts on this earth. I remember my first holiday by plane to the Canary Islands, a Spanish archipelago closer to Africa than Europe. In the south of the islands it's very hot and dry, nevertheless a wonderful holiday, but when I got home after three weeks, the first thing I did was kiss a tree. That's why I love forests more than deserts. very good work... a big❤️...All the best...Bert

@Guitarsmurf

Hello Bert,

I have been to and lived in about every climate that there is ... flatland plains, eastern forests, the Florida tropics, the deep south Gulf, South East Asia jungles, Alaska ... Canada ... and the arctic, California ... western deserts and forests and mountains, the Northwest Seattle, Britain and many places in between and high above the clouds everywhere.. I kind of love them all ... the variety, the different cultures. Haven't been to Germany yet but my grandmother came to America from Germany in the early part of the last century. So my grandmother's accent and a small bit of that in my mother and many of you music friends gives me the feel and spirit of your homeland.

My best to you!

Mark ;)

A delicate fade in soon leads to the lyre plucks. The piece presents a stark, desolate landscape. Visions of a desert on an alien world appear for this listener. A dispassionate and merciless place for the unprepared. At the end, one can reflect that there is much to be said for the great indoors and the modern conveniences! I confess I go out in the harsh Canadian winter as little as possible and can understand why birds, and people!, go south when it comes. An effective piece of music for conjuring visions of myterious dreamscapes.
