Greetings Magix community,

This is a remaster of a track I created, performed, and produced in 2023. I wanted to get a sense of what it would be like to perform with a large rock band live. This track has sounds that represent many instruments ... 3 acoustical guitars, 3 rock guitars, 3 Hammond organs (with Leslie speakers), a flute, a contra base, a Steinway grand piano, a PPG 2.2 wave synth (the German community members might especially enjoy this instrument here)., a small group chorus, and a Solina Ensemble string synth.

Over a few weeks in 2023 I had comp(ed) and performed each instrument with the idea of experiencing what it would be like improvising a planned melody working together in a band in a live performance. Of course each instrument was experiencing the sound of the other instruments during the performance and putting it all together. I don't think I would ever play live in a performance ... but just in the comfort and quiet of my own little studio but I get the idea - lol.

The setting of this track is meant to be a Peace rock music festival concert performing in the early 1980s. Of course each instrument synthesized on this track is a vintage instrument nowadays. And the intended band was improvising sounds that may be similar to works in the 60s 70s, and 80s.

Friendship Bridge (P) 2023 Mark Kostora ... Specially remastered for the Magix community 2026

I had created and produced an awesome video version of this track but was not able to upload it to Magix due to the present problems uploading tracks to Magix. When the problems are eventually fixed I will then upload the video version.

My best musical wishes ...

Mark ;)

Okay Mark, I've listened to your album "Friendship Bridge" twice, and I have to say: it's wonderful just the way it is, but I didn't hear any rock guitars! πŸ˜‰

It's a very relaxed, and even without rock guitars, a very well-instrumented masterpiece with beautiful melodies and elements! Top cover! Professional sound! A real treat for the ears! πŸ’―πŸ’―πŸ’―πŸ’―πŸ’―πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸŽΉπŸŽΉπŸŽΉπŸŽΉπŸŽΉπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘πŸ’―πŸ’―πŸ’―πŸ’―πŸ’―

Hello Sylvio,

Thank you so much for your kind and helpful comment. I was very pleased to receive your feedback and impressions, especially since you were a DJ in the 80s and have a trained ear for the nuances of instrument sounds. I think the guitar sounds in this track are more accurately described as "electric guitars" than "rock guitars." Although I used Gibson Les Paul guitar sounds, I prioritized the acoustic guitars in the guitar mix. The Gibson Les Paul sound adds more punch to the acoustic guitar mix, which would be clearly audible even at a large open-air festival. I'm aware that most people associate rock guitars with long, flowing riffs and the typical variations of rock music.

Best regards, and I always enjoy hearing from you ;)

Mark ;)

An interesting set of instruments and tempo changes. The mood is playful for a while before becoming more serious. Perhaps we can say the electric guitars don't use distortion and wah wah pedals and we hear them in a simpler state. A switch to piano at the end after a brief pause. The band would have to turn down not to drown you out! A very satisfying piece about bridging the gaps to friendship and in the spirit of the peace and love folk rock festivals of the '60s before things got seamier.

Best wishes,

Philip-J

Thanks for your comments Philip. Yea electric guitars can be tamed sometimes - lol. One thing I learned in creating this track is the skill and effort needed in doing tempo and melody transitions. When we are in complete control of the music development in a home synth or 'music maker' studio it is difficult enough to manage tempo and melody transitions. But take a music band (I am sure they did some rehearsals) but performing together (live even) I am impressed in how many performing artist are able to 'keep it all together' and make some really great songs.

Best wishes!

Mark ;)
