George Duke, the legendary pianist and keyboardist, sadly passed away on, August 5, 2013 at the tender age of 67. The world is a much less creative place... and, he will be sorely missed by music lovers all over the world.
As an American musician, he was known as a "keyboard pioneer", composer, singer and producer in both Jazz and Popular mainstream musical genres. Throughout his illustrious career he worked with numerous acclaimed artists, as arranger, music director, writer and co-writer, record producer and as a professor of music.
This piece, is sprinkled (liberally) with tidbits of some of "The Duke's" vast array of signature keyboard chords, riff's and progressions; of which any devotee of his music style will recognize throughout this arrangement (especially near the end).
(Key of F-Major/D-Minor at 100 BPM).
Hope you find it enjoyable...
