In 2006-07 my high school lost 2 girls that attended our school. The first was Julia Curran sister of my friend Mark Curran. The Second Was Heather Gillespie. I never met Heather but I had seen her around school. My good friend Matt Kyte who would later be a part of Before Dawn with me was very close to her and devistated by her passing.
One day when we were in the hallway we hung out I let him play my acoustic guitar and he sang the first verse to this song. I said wow that was great but your guitar part was just power chords. Let me see what I can come up with. That was how it started. We wrote most of the lyrics and I wrote most of the music.
The next semester we had recording class so we decided to record the song. Marcus another good friend of mine was very close and he played drums in my jazz class so we let him be a part of it. I contributed 8 tracks to this recording and I also mixed it. My second solo in this song is my first ever attempt at improvisation. I think I did alright. Derek Hope another good friend who would also be a member of Before Dawn is a much better guitarist than myself. With that said because we were all such good friends it just fit together perfectly. I did my solos first and didn't do any fast shred stuff so it sounds like dereks solos blew mine away (lol I didn't know it was a competition). Once the mastering was done we gave a copy of the cd to her parents. I hope you like it.

First: I´m a friend of improvisation of all ideas. It`s a great feeling, to feel what your other parts are feeling in moment and you can play with your soul!!!
I hear a great time here of yesterdays moments. Top.
Good song, good work on the instrumentals, First vocals could be stronger couldn't make out what the lyrics were till you joined in at the end. Sounds like a great song.
Good melody and good instrumental parts, in consideration of the voice with the lyrics this track should be remastered (if possible)....
You know what I mean...
4,5* ,perhaps a potential of 5* or more....

It's annother good work you have done by this song ......
Very nice. Thanks for including the story behind the song. Not what I was expecting in the "Easy Listening" category. But that's alright,I knew it would be good if it was posted by you.
