There's a friendly remix competition over at Soundcloud, based on Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Clubfungus is running it, and it's just for fun. There are downloadable resources to use, if you want to take part, but you don't have to use them - and beware because of the film connections, copyright could come into play if you to try and use them for anything else.

Each entry has to be uploaded to your Soundcloud account, strictly not downloadable (the copyright thing again) and labeled in certain way. Apart from that it has to be shorter than four minutes. I thought some of you guys might enjoy having a go. I just had fun.

My version uploaded to Soundcloud is 124 bpm and more tribute than remix. All midi work as usual, so the only copyright trouble I could get into is for the use of the iconic, five note phrase so well known from the film. This is 120 as I wrote it, and very slightly over the 4 mins.
